Meet the Candidates for the 2025 MOAR Board of Directors & Officers
Bert Barnes, 2025 President
I obtained my real estate license in 2002 after purchasing my first home, which sparked my passion for the industry. Early in my career, I learned that active involvement is key to having a voice, so I've served on several committees at MOAR and was honored to be President in 2017. I’m also actively engaged in my community in various ways. Additionally, I’m a proud mom and grandmother to three wonderful grandkids.
My vision for MOAR is to unite our membership in a collaborative environment where we can share experiences and support one another. By working together, we can navigate recent challenges and strengthen the partnership between brokers and agents. Ultimately, my goal is to enhance our industry while ensuring transparency and cooperation, all while protecting the property owners in the communities we serve.
Tina Siefring, 2025 Treasurer
I have been a Realtor since 2018, 6 years. Also serve as a trustee on community Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy travel and family time with two new grandboys.
I feel that serving as a volunteer helps the Association, but also allows me to learn and grow in the industry.
Karen Metz, 2025-2027 Director (1st Term)
Real Estate is my third career. I taught pre-school for many years and then spent many years in the funeral home and cemetery field. I started my real estate career in 2007.
I have been licensed since 2007 and now feel it's time to become involved my local board and maybe contribute to making things better for my fellow Realtors.
Paula Hill, 2025 President Elect
Hello, everyone! I am a dedicated and passionate real estate agent with seven years of experience. As a Sidney High school graduate and a resident of Shelby County, I have deep roots in this community. I am happily married to my husband, Zach, and we have been blessed with five wonderful children. Soon, we will be welcoming our first granddaughter in October, which brings me immense joy and excitement.
Before embarking on my real estate career, I worked as a paralegal. This background not only honed my attention to detail and organizational skills, but it also confirmed my strong desire to help people. It was this passion for serving others that ultimately led me to become a real estate agent.
One of the things I love most about Shelby County is its close-knit community feel. I am proud to be heavily involved in various community organizations. Currently, I serve on the Midwestern Ohio Association of Realtors Board, Miami & Shelby County Habitat for Humanity Board, the Charity League Board, and I am also a member of the Sidney Dance Company Guild. Being actively engaged in these organizations allows me to give back to the community I love while pursuing my passions.
As someone who greatly values community involvement, I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for treasurer of the Midwestern Ohio Association of Realtors Board. I firmly believe in the importance of professional development and fostering positive relationships within the real estate community. If elected, I will dedicate myself to serving the association and its members with integrity and dedication.
In my downtime, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends. I believe in being active in my community, and you can often find me volunteering at local events or supporting local businesses. My church community also holds a special place in my heart, and I am actively involved in church activities.
Our family also owns and operates Rolling Hills Skate, a local roller skating rink. When I am not busy with real estate or serving on various boards, you can find me enjoying time with my loved ones at the rink, skating and creating cherished memories.
Thank you for considering me as your treasurer for the Midwestern Ohio Association of Realtors Board. I am committed to making a positive impact on our association and working tirelessly to advance the interests of real estate professionals in our community. Together, let's build a stronger and more vibrant real estate industry. Thank you!
Jeanie Bates, 2025-2027 Director (2nd Term)
Josiah Shaffer, Affiliate Director
I have been involved in residential lending for about eight years. I am actively involved with Kiwanis, Board Secretary for Piqua Arts Council, and Board Treasure for the Miami County Family Abuse Shelter.
I have been involved with the affiliate committee for a few years and appreciate what we do for MOAR agents with monthly networking events, RPAC, etc.
